While browsing through the worlds best message board, VLV, I was reminded of this delicious golden gem that was all the rage back in 2006, seriously everyone owned this and loved it. Shamefully though, the followups weren't as explosive as this crowning glory.
The album starts with Wolverines delivering very spastic screamo, really chaotic and wavy. Any description I give would make this band sound bad. So just listen to the opening track, 'Jubilation', and then listen to 'Rasputin'. Both tracks deliver a good heap of what this band offers and what other bands wish they could have done. The other tracks do a good job of being the backbone for this portion of the split.
The Sibling Project is a good pairing with Wolverine's, not in that they sound similar, because they do not, but because they aren't what you'd expect. This surprise attack gives you a more eclectic view of North Carolinas music scene during the year of 2006. It's a really happy onslaught of poppy electro with acoustic guitars. A super refreshing reminder of the past, before music such as this ended up on television commercials.
