A 12" on Sacred Bones that's apart of a series of 12"s. Came out a few days ago, at least in mp3 format. All of NERVE CITY. is very similar to itself and when I first heard it in 2008 (via a VLV upload) I didn't think there was anything out there quite like it. The Catholic School demo tape was really uplifting but in a very dark and out of the ordinary way; Death itself was playing guitar, Grief the tambourine and Despair was in the distance playing the drums. It's still the same very ripping formula, the songs have gotten shorter and there is some concept (maybe). I think NERVE CITY.'s time has passed since the original hype, but it's so great to know that someone out there is still making pop music expressing the part of my soul that I'm most ashamed of.
