Groovy power chord filled power punky full sounding garage punk. I know, that sentence sounds dumb to your brain. I make everything sound dumb so it is no big deal to me. Honestly sounds a little like Broken Water, Sonic Youth, some other 80's noise pop bands with 90's power pop leanings. You know stuff like Superchunk and maybe Sugar. Obviously the band was raised on stuff like this. Well maybe not raised, not everyone is cool enough for that I guess but influenced by it. I think there's a really awesome monotoned charm in their songs, not that each one sounds like the last but they don't transition around like crazy. Combined with the lyrics their unabashed angst becomes righteous. Don't get me wrong they don't play shitty, it's fucking wonderful. I think being associated with Dead Air Studios also helps as well, the guitar sounds crystal clear on closer track Girls XL. Check it out. They're about to head out on tour soon, no west coast dates, but maybe/hopefully soon. :)
