This bands wikipedia entry has them labeled as post punk, which is obviously just a genre toss by someone who doesn't know what they're talking about. Evergreen has more in touch with indie upstarts who enjoy more repetitive vocal stylings and dark brooding music with a really light sound scape attributed to it all. I'd say they run as a precursor to christian band Plankeye's sound than a post punk band. Musically this sounds like an earlier Plankeye track, which really marks it in some 90's time frame, the vocals do remind me of a newer (heard of him 4 years ago or so) artist by the name of Damir Bojanic. Really sappy (and sometimes throw away) lyrics, but what gets you is the play between sound and vocals, they're too awe inspiring tired and moving.
At first I didn't like this band, it took a year or so for me to come to terms with them, albeit it is after the recent ebay hype.
