In my opinion one of the more solid attempts at mainstream emo pop by Jade Tree records. This album is one of my more favorites, from start to finish. Everything about it is just definitely a really somber trip full of archaic lyrics and rhythmic guitar progressions. The drumming seems to be spot on minimal at times for such fresh and poppy songs, they are almost as repetitive as the guitars themselves. Guest starring Tim Kinsella from Capn Jazz fame on track 2 for a maximum of two lines, painfully screeched out and wonderfully delivered. Some have told me that the recording itself does not give the entire album justice, but in my opinion the recording brings out some youthful angst that may had been missed if any of the instruments or vocals were more thoughtfully produced. It's more softer sound textures and lower recording makes me shiver.
