Gary War - Horribles Parade

Gary War used to be in a few bands, and that's a good beginning to trying to describe his solo work. It's really interesting and each song just so happens to flow really fluid like, or dream like, which is a staple of this type of work. Honestly though, it's more refined than not and it sounds a little over the top when you get down to it. The songs are fleshed out in a way that I feel makes them too long, but nonetheless they are still delivered in their own way, lazily and cathartic as though you're half way asleep and half way driving home. All in all it's a good album, although it runs longer than usual with 17 songs, but if you're really into this kind of stuff then it's a superb treat. More than likely featured in a South Park episode about the Goth Kids. Gary War don't be Ariel Pink (Gary War was in Ariel Pink).
