Grandaddy - The Sophtware Slump

Grandaddy and also listening to Grandaddy was sort of the Catalyst for me checking out more and more indie music of different varieties. The vocals really get me and the lyrical matter of being isolated in a highly digital world throw my brain into constant realizations. They had met with fame at various times, with music videos and then being a featured band on very early Zunes... but I believe what brought them their most recognition was that they were on the soundtrack to 28 Days Later. Their second album was obviously mis-titled (but with a good title) being as how it wasn't a slump at all. Believed to be a concept album about nature and electronics not being able to collide and with a constant character in the form of Jed the robot (who commits suicide). Enjoyable!
