The Promise Ring just so happens to be one of my more favorite bands, I can say that with assurance even after never listening to Wood/Water at all. There is just something in the hooks and choruses that keeps me wanting more, my mouth salivating. The catchy catch that has caught me. I found out that their long time guitarist Jason Gnewikow is gay and it's inspired me to pop up this EP on here. It's a solid venture into indie pop before indie pop was sleigh bells and one man bands, some people call it emo and it may be, but to me it's the perfect dosage of late 90's/early 00's modern rock songs. It's a much more heavy hitter than the other album I've put by them on here, recorded that way, and it's delightful.
