I Don't Feel At Home In This World Anymore is a compilation of folk type songs from the early part of recording history (as far as I know currently, I have never done any research). A sometimes light-hearted and sometimes lonely-based compilation focusing on American immigrants expressing their views and emotions of being 'lost' in their new home. Like I said before it's really folky most of the time, but a lot of the songs are played as traditional songs reminding them of their respective places of origin. It's sometimes scary to listen too; the wails of the forgotten and misplaced singers and the distant yet vibrant guitar notes being played are prominent pieces of this compilation. The first track contains the most popular artist on the release, I think at least, discovering this only after reading around, Marika Papagika. Released (and then re-released?) by Missippi Records, who's website is down, as an edition of 800 and sold out everywhere. Really grainy at times but that only adds to the feeling, it's in 256 kpbs which is pretty good quality and everything is good aside from the Lydia Mendoza track which is all sorts of ripped wrong I guess, or maybe it's supposed to be that way (more than likely not). Good luck out there. Anyone can make music about anything.
