The Magnetic Fields - The House Of Tomorrow

I didn't know what to think of this at first; "it is incredible" was the first tangible thought that came up though. The running idea that this might have been the most innovative thing I have ever heard really leaps from song to song, unifying this EP as being one of my more favorites. Keep in mind I didn't know this existed until a few weeks ago. They mix a large sense of whimsical ironies that may make you chuckle a little bit with super dead serious tones that are surrounded by synth-goth complacency. Sounds like they knew what they were doing from the start. I guess if you like the Cocteau Twins post I made earlier than you'll certainly enjoy this. It's a lot lighter but not without its sinister dark edge.
