I think that a lot of you get annoyed when I put really mainstream acts like Prince or Lisa Lisa on here because they aren't punk or whatever, but whatever, I haven't received any hate yet and I hope I never do. Personally I think mainstream music is falling way side to the counter culture (sorta like it always does) and past acts are virtually forgotten to the point of where no one can remember who played that song. Lime is sort of one of those acts. They infuse a great Disco feel with positive vocals to create some honest from the heart Hi-NRG. Now a lot of you know what Synth Pop is, and Cold Wave and other stupid genres that were in a way dance related; but a lot of you don't know (or care) what Hi-NRG is... Donna Summers was Hi-NRG as was New Order, get the picture?
This Greatest Hits is a greatest hits compilation like the namesake implies yet somehow it feels like there are some songs missing that made it bigtime that I cannot remember and I guess whoever made this couldn't remember either.
The story of LIME is odd and like so many Hi-NRG acts; born in Canada yet deemed too ugly for the masses, so live and on their covers they were replaced by a duo of super sexy 'musicians', although this might seem criminal now (and then) it has always been like that. Eventually we all found out that they were indeed in their 40's and balding. Not that bad though.
