Soft Cell happen to have been one of New Waves most successful and recognized artists world wide thanks to Tainted Love, which happened to be a cover song first originally done in 1964 by Gloria Jones. Although Tainted Love was their only top 40 US hit, they had much success elsewhere. This 7" combines Tainted Love and Where Did Our Love Go on Side A to make a sweet dance song that transitions nicely from one to another, you wouldn't know they were two separate songs. The B Side is another UK chart topping song known as What? which features much of the same techniques used by both mainstream and underground artists of the synth community.
