Chimera - Earth Loop

Similar band as the last album, although this is their second release and was produced by Chris Nagle, who has had the privilege to work with Echo & The Bunnymen, Joy Division and the Smiths (as Wikipedia has led me to believe). The result is a really stunning album that seems to be more focused in a way. There are a ton of similarities with Lughnasa, but overall I get a sense of deep maturity in the band; don't worry, the vocals are just as ever youthful and romantic and the shoegazing hasn't taken a backseat to the action, if anything the shoegazing has been put up front. Another difference between this album and Lughnasa was that Earth Loop was recorded with the US audience in mind, not 100% in mind, but by this time the band received some recognition for their The Day Star EP (which I have not heard yet, someone cough it up!) which was their first US release. Anywho, the rip is kind of quiet, but if anything that eerily adds some more charm to it. Sounds like you're listening in on an inverted recording at times.
