Today while getting back home from my Prop 36 drug treatment group therapy thingy, I was contemplating jumping in front of the bus that was to take me home, I decided that no, not today, it isn't my time to die, but what I did decide to do was play some groovy tunes off my borrowed iPod, one of the bands I listened to was Shrinnirs. If you are looking for something new and hyper innovative then please look elsewhere, not sure where or how you would find something like that, but in this case you will not discover it here. What you will find though is a nice, really thorough introduction to what sounds like New Englands best kept secret. Shrinnirs were formed in the late 80's, 1986 it seems, and have been playing on and off since then with various names attributed to them, there is a timeline on their Facebook page. The sound of Shrinnirs can be described as clever lo-fi (but not unbearable lo-fi) recordings of punk, pop, gazey songs. Whatever dude, just listen to it. Also since I can't find the album cover online I just put this one up here.
